Hello All Fellow Spearos,
The day dawned a beautiful pink promising clear skies and at Fishermen’s Beach the air was still and the sea a mirror. There was nobody around as I set the ring up but by 7:30am the place was buzzing with boats zooming in and the divers signing on. What a great day for an Alliman!

The usual safety talk was given with the emphasis on diving in pairs as the many reports of shark activity had some divers nervous but as it turned out not one was seen. Just before 8am the divers made their way to the boats and putted out slowly to wait for Macca to wave his boat flag to signify the start of the competition. The boats raced away North & South!
1:15pm all divers had their fish in the ring and the business of the weighing and scoring started with great interest in who got what fish and guessing who got top score.
Some great fish came in including:

Jarod McKenzie (MW) with an 890gm Blue Throat Wrasse Marsh (SSD) with a fantastic 2.115kg Spangled Emporer Lewis (SSD) with a magnificent 4.160kg Dusky Flathead, what a beast! Murphy, 875gm Ling Bova (SSD) with 2 stud fish 2.540kg Wirrah & 1.215kg Tarwhine Gall (MW) with a good blue Morwong (1.060kg) Dredge (SSD) 3.905kg Rock Blackfish

Next month on Sunday 11th October 2015 we meet at Kurnell, this is always a great venue with Botany Bay as well as the surrounding ocean to choose from. Remember sign on from 7am comp start 8am and all fish in ring by 1:15pm. Contact me for any further information.
